Welcome to the Nursery
The Nursery consists of two groups, Red Group and Blue Group, and attendance for our Nursery pupils is via alternate morning and afternoon session i.e. mornings for one week and afternoons for the following week. The session times are 9-11.25am every morning and 12.30-2.55 pm every afternoon.
The children spend their time in Nursery having lots of fun and essentially learning through play, both inside and outside. In addition, our pupils enjoy a snack during the session, which promotes healthy eating and also gives them the opportunity to rest and socialise within a small group.
There are 3 members of staff in the Nursery:
Mrs H Middlehurst - Class Teacher
Mrs L Jones - Classroom Support Worker
Mrs K Hodgson - Classroom Support Worker
The topic for the first half term is ‘Our Garden’ which has a Knowledge and Understanding of the World focus. We will be learning about the life cycle of a sunflower, as well as planting flowers and plants in the Nursery garden. Our role play area is Grandpa’s Shop (selling fruit and vegetables) where the children will have the opportunity of developing both their Language and Mathematical skills through the characters in the story book, ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’.
During the second half of the Summer Term, our topic will be Bob the Builder - buildings and homes. Through this topic the children will have the opportunity of developing their Mathematical and DT skills. We will also start our visits to the woods, including a trip to Park Hall Farm near Oswestry.

And here are the Red Group too, having lots of fun on World Book Day by wearing their pyjamas and sharing their books with everyone.
St David's Day in the Nursery - both the Red and Blue Groups listened to the story of St David and learnt about some Welsh traditions.
After a busy morning painting daffodils, the Red Group are enjoying 'ERIC' time reading some Welsh books.
The Blue Group are also enjoying looking at some Welsh books during 'ERIC' time after spending their afternoon playing in the 'Babies Hospital'.
The children in both groups of the Nursery enjoyed raising money for charity by wearing their favourite colour for the day.
Here are the Red Group acting out the Nativity.
