This term Year 5 children will be continuing to study our topic of ‘South Africa’, researching the Geography- both human and physical, taking note of the History and getting creative with our art skills as well as utilizing and extending our literacy and numeracy skills through out our topic.
We have loved showing you some of our work over the course of the term and look forward to continuing to do so!
Our Science topic this term will also be continuing looking at the Human Body. We will be taking this opportunity to learn all about how our body works, how to look after it and maintain a healthy lifestyle- linking our Science topic with P.S.E 'Growing Up' and our Design Technology topic of 'Smoothies'. We are really looking forward to making and tasty some healthy smoothies!
During the first half-term pupils will be taking part in Dance (Welsh Folk Dancing) and Cross Country activities. Outdoor kit will be required for these as follows:
Black shorts, Black Mountain Lane T-Shirt and Trainers. If pupils feel the weather is a little chilly a plain black long sleeved jumper will be suitable to wear.
Year 5 PE lessons are every Monday and Wednesday.
If PE is unable to go ahead we will try to 'make up' for this 'lost' lesson and so it is advisable for children to bring their PE kit daily, just in case.
This year Year 5 have been enjoying being a little more independent in their homework choices, we have been able to utilise and express skills we didn't even realise we had, choosing from a range of homeworks that suit our skills/talents! Please take a look in our Gallery below to see some of our hard work.

Tuesday- All homework due in if an activity has been completed.
