Croeso i Ddosbarth 7 - Welcome to Class 7
For our first Summer Term topic, we will be looking at the topic 'Extreme Earth'! The children will have the opportunity to learn about different natural disasters around the world including Volcanoes and Earthquakes. We will also be completing work on New Zealand and comparing this country to Wales.
After May half term, our topic will change to 'Under the Sea'! Children will research different sea creatures and their habitats and also explore the properties of different materials and the water cycle.
Keep an eye on the website throughout the term for pictures and information about what we have been up to!
Please note, due to current school arrangements, all homework will be completed online. We politely ask that no work is to be brought in to school; completed tasks / photographs of work are to be submitted via Seesaw and children will have the opportunity to share with their peers.
Children will be provided with a range of tasks to complete during the half term. Information about these tasks will be shared with the children in the next couple of weeks and uploaded for your information on Seesaw.
*In the future, Google Classroom will be used to complete homework tasks however to support the transition from Year 2 to 3, Seesaw will be used until you are informed otherwise.
Children in Year 3 will take part in rugby and hockey sessions during this half term. They will also have the opportunity to part in running/cross country sessions.
Year 3 P.E. sessions will take place on Tuesday and Friday.
On your child’s P.E. day, we are asking that they come to school in their kit. Due to the colder weather, children are invited to wear tracksuits along with their Mountain Lane PE t-shirt as all PE sessions will take place outside.
We are also hoping to visit the forest area during the term and we will communicate with you when such sessions are due to take place, to ensure that the pupils come to school prepared, in the appropriate attire.
Our Afternoon in the Woodlands
We visited the woodlands and made self portraits out of the items we could find on the woodlands floor.
We have started off this school year by making our very own worry monsters. What do you think?
